Curbed Construction's Earth Day Cleanup at Lookout Creek

Every year, Earth Day serves as a poignant reminder of our responsibility to safeguard the environment. It's a day when individuals and organizations worldwide unite in their commitment to preserving the planet for future generations. This year, Curbed Construction’s team took a break from their normal construction activities to clean up trash from a local National Park site and along the Lookout Creek watershed.

Lookout Creek watershed is a critical ecosystem teeming with diverse flora and fauna which then flows into the Tennessee River. Unfortunately, like many natural habitats, it has been subject to the adverse effects of pollution and human activity. On Earth Day morning, the team from Curbed Construction, along with Roamstead’s corporate staff, gathered at Lookout Creek armed with gloves, trash bags, and a determination to make a difference.

As the day progressed, the team discovered and discarded numerous forms of litter, s

uch as a toilet, numerous glass bottles, various forms of plastic, springs from a mattress, etc. Additionally, the team worked to removed an abandoned "John Boat" from the river.

The impact of Curbed Construction's Earth Day cleanup was profound and resulted in an overflowing dump trailer of waste that was then relocated to a more appropriate location.
